About PEGPAC
PEGPAC provides a means for PSEG employees to support federal political candidates who understand and support PSEG’s needs and interests. PEGPAC is independent of any political party, candidate or other organization. Since PSEG pays the administrative costs of PEGPAC, every dollar you contribute goes directly to candidates.
How are candidates selected?
Political candidates seeking to be elected or reelected to federal office may be eligible for contributions from PEGPAC. Candidates will be chosen on the basis of their positions on PSEG’s legislative agenda, voting record on issues that impact our industry, positions in leadership or on key congressional committees, as well as the location of PSEG facilities in a candidate’s district or state.
What are the benefits of being a PEGPAC member?
■ An opportunity to be involved in the political process
■ Regular updates on political and legislative issues pertinent to PSEG
■ Invitations to political briefings and other PEGPAC events
Participation is voluntary
While a strong and effective PEGPAC is important to the company and its employees, contributions are voluntary and employees have the right to decline to contribute without fear of reprisals. Additionally, some employees are not eligible. In accordance with federal regulations governing political action committees, only employees meeting the criteria below are eligible to join PEGPAC:
■ U.S. citizens or foreign nationals with permanent resident status
■ Executive and administrative personnel paid on a salaried basis, with policy-making, managerial, and supervisory responsibilities
■ Other restrictions may apply
How much should I contribute?
It’s your decision. Just as participation in PEGPAC is voluntary, so is the amount you contribute. Depending on your salary level, PEGPAC has outlined suggested amounts on the enclosed enrollment card. All contributions are welcome and you are free to contribute more or less than the suggested guidelines, up to the individual federal contribution limit of $5,000 per calendar year. Regardless of the amount you give, your participation is important.
Contributions to PEGPAC are not deductible as charitable
contributions for federal income tax purposes. All contributions are subject to applicable federal election laws.
